“无状态以太坊”提出一种新的方式来处理以太坊网络中的“状态”（state）数据。状态通常是指以太坊区块链上所有账户余额、智能合约的状态以及其他相关数据的快照。由于以太坊的广泛使用和交易量的增长，状态数据正在迅速膨胀，这给网络中的完整节点（full nodes）带来了挑战。无状态以太坊的目标是减轻完整节点存储和处理状态数据的负担，使网络更具可扩展性和去中心化。通过引入“无状态”概念，节点可以验证交易和区块，而无需保存整个状态数据库，而是依赖其他机制（如“见证”（witness））来验证状态的正确性。
