American Express is raising its quarterly dividend by 17% to 82 cents a share.
The credit card giant on Monday said that its board of directors authorized increasing its quarterly payout to shareholders to 82 cents a share from 70 cents a share previously.
The new payout, equal to $3.28 annually, represents a yield of 1.11%, based on the company's latest closing price of $295.49.
The dividend will be paid on May 9 to shareholders of record on April 1.
