U.S. Natural Gas Rallies as Near-Term Forecasts Add Demand -- Market Talk

1455 ET - Forecasts for another cold shot moving into next week lift U.S. natural gas futures as the market remains focused on weather for the tail end of winter. "Where the overnight and midday data trended colder was for this weekend into the start of next week as a frosty weather system sweeps across the northern and eastern U.S.," NatGasWeather.com says in a note. Tight storage likely contributed to the gains, "and it also helps that LNG exports remain very strong at just under all-time highs," the forecaster adds. The Nymex front month settles up 7.5% at $4.122/mmBtu. (anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
