Indie Semiconductor (INDI) said Tuesday it is collaborating with GlobalFoundries (GFS) on automotive radar adoption.
Under their partnership, Indie said they will develop radar systems-on-chip on GlobalFoundries' 22FDX platform targeting 77 GHz and 120 GHz radar applications for advanced driver assistance systems and adjacent industrial applications.
Indie said its 77 GHz SoCs allow use cases such as forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, while the 120 GHz ones will target in-cabin applications that need higher resolution and precision over shorter ranges.
Shares of Indie were down more than 6% in early trading while GlobalFoundries shares were up nearly 2%.
