Artisan Partners Asset Management named its current president Jason Gottlieb as its new chief executive.

Gottlieb would succeed Eric Colson and is set to take on the role on June 4 after the company's annual stockholders meeting, the Milwaukee investment management firm said.

Colson is expected to move into the role of executive chair.

Gottlieb, 55, joined Artisan Partners in October 2016 as a managing director of investment operations. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of investments in February 2017 and became president in January 2021. Before joining Artisan, he was a partner and managing director at Goldman Sachs.

Colson made a salary of $500,000 as chief executive in 2023. His total compensation was $6 million. Gottlieb made a total of $5 million, with a $300,000 base salary.
