Singapore shares closed higher on Monday, tracking gains in regional markets.
The Straits Times Index ranged between 3,894.85 and 3,918.07 throughout the day. It ended the session at 3,908.92, up 13.22 points or 0.34% higher compared to Friday's close.
In company news, shares of Wee Hur slumped almost 12% after the company posted an attributable loss of SG$12.5 million in the second half of 2024, reversing an attributable profit of SG$120.4 million a year earlier.
Hong Fok's shares closed nearly 5% lower after its attributable profit to owners declined during the second half of 2024 to SG$20.1 million from SG$81.2 million a year earlier.
Meanwhile, shares of CityDev fell over 3% on Monday morning after the company resumed its trading, stating that its operations remain "fully functional and unaffected."
STI up 0.3%, ST Engineering rose 9%, YZJ Fin Hldg rose 6%, Sembcorp rose 4%, UOL rose 2%; Olam fell 4%, Genting Singapore fell 3%, CityDev fell 2.3%.
