HSBC Holdings (HKG:0005) bought back 5,907,832 shares in Hong Kong and London on Friday, according to a Monday bourse filing.
The British lender repurchased 2,968,232 shares in the UK at a weighted average price of 9.21 pounds sterling, and 2,939,600 shares in Hong Kong at a weighted average price of HK$89.35.
Since the commencement of the current buyback program, HSBC has repurchased 32,094,214 shares for a total consideration of about $364.2 million.
Upon cancellation of the repurchased shares in the UK, the bank will have 17,807,630,799 ordinary shares with voting rights.
