TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - To welcome the holy month of Ramadan 1446 Hijri and the 2025 Eid homecoming exodus, it is recorded that 1,437,124 PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) tickets have been sold.

As reported from various sources, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has prepared a total of 3,443,832 tickets to fulfill the public's transportation needs during the Eid homecoming. The number of tickets is the allocation provided by KAI for the operational period from March 21 to April 11, 2025.

The Gambir-Yogyakarta route saw the highest number of passengers during the homecoming season, followed by the Yogyakarta-Gambir and Gambir-Semarang Tawang routes.

Additionally, the Pasar Senen-Surabaya Pasar Turi and Pasar Senen-Lempuyangan routes were among the most in-demand.

To improve passenger comfort and satisfaction, PT KAI has implemented various service improvements during this period. These efforts aim to provide a better travel experience and ensure passengers' needs are met efficiently.

"A total of 170 frontliner officers will be assigned at 39 stations located in various operational areas (Daop) and regional divisions (Divre). These officers are ready to provide information and assist customers with various needs during their journey," said Vice President Public Relations of KAI, Anne Purba.

Meanwhile, as cited from Antara, the Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Ixfan Hendriwintoko, conveyed the readiness of their train service operations to face the high travel period.

He stated that the company has completed the scheduling of long-distance train trips totaling 1,826 trips which will start operating over a span of 22 days, from March 21 to April 11, 2025.

During this period, the total seat capacity provided reaches 970,675 seats, with an average availability of around 44,122 seats per day.

In this regard, Ixfan also expressed gratitude for the trust given by the public in the services they provide.

"Given the high demand, we urge customers to make ticket reservations before they run out," he added.

Ixfan mentioned that customers can use the "Connecting Train" feature available in the KAI Access application, especially if the tickets for the desired date are no longer available.

"This feature allows customers to connect several train routes so they can still depart as planned and reach their destination comfortably," he said.

Based on the latest data collected, ticket sales at several stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta area have shown a significant figure. At Gambir Station, 140,438 tickets have been sold out of a total availability of 439,516 tickets.
