当地时间3月3日，美国民主党参议员布卢门撒尔要求美国国务卿鲁比奥回答有关计划斥资4亿美元购买装甲版特斯拉Cybertrucks以运送外交官的问题。

美国国务院表示，该合同是在拜登政府期间计划的，特朗普政府取消了该合同。

布卢门撒尔表示，有人提出疑问，在公众强烈反对后，特朗普政府是否伪造并追溯政府文件，使花费4亿美元纳税人的钱购买特斯拉Cybertrucks的想法看起来源自上一届政府。

特朗普政府不仅认识到马斯克的双重职位中存在巨大的利益冲突，而且还在采取积极措施掩盖确保马斯克的职位使他的公司受益的事实。

据美国联邦选举委员会此前公布的文件显示，特斯拉公司首席执行官埃隆·马斯克在2024年美国大选中的花费超过了2.9亿美元。
