Redcastle Resources (ASX: RC1) has intersected high-grade gold at its Queen Alexandra, Redcastle Reef and Morgan’s Castle East projects in Western Australia’s eastern goldfields.
The intercepts were recorded as part of an additional 1,700 metres of reverse circulation drilling the company conducted after completing an initial 6,500m program under budget.
Significant 1m and 4m composite assays from 99 holes, totalling 9,700m, confirmed the potential for widespread and extensive mineralisation.
Best results from Queen Alexandra were 4m at 10.94 grams per tonne gold from 6m and 4m at 4.79g/t gold from 8m, located at shallow depths in a previously undrilled northern area of the prospect.
The new Kestrel Lode returned highlights of 7m at 10.16g/t gold from 42m, 3m at 6.43g/t from 15m, 2m at 7.78g/t from 77m and 3m at 5.07g/t from 20m.
Delineation of this zone of anomalous gold mineralisation has warranted the drilling of an additional 17 holes and the initiation of a scoping study for the development of an open-pit operation and potential underground expansion, utilising third-party process tolling.
The company is advancing the Redcastle Reef prospect towards a maiden mineral resource estimate after strong drilling results confirmed significant gold mineralisation, including 2m at 9.14g/t gold from 39m and 8m at 3.06g/t.
Redcastle has earmarked the prospect as a potential satellite open-pit operation to support Queen Alexandra’s development.
Morgan’s Castle East also returned strong results at a reconnaissance level, confirming the presence of a gold-mineralised structure within an oxide zone and a potential east-to-west strike of 400m.
Best intercepts were 1m at 22.5g/t gold from 36m and 1m at 6.12g/t from 27m, with potential for low-cost mining due to soft oxide and transition material.
Chair Ray Shaw said the latest results validated the potential of the Redcastle project area.
“We now see a real possibility of an extensive east-to-west gold corridor with Queen Alexandra at its core, stretching eastward to Coronation and further to Redcastle Reef and Morgan’s Castle East,” he said.
“With continued exploration, this corridor could extend even further to Sligo, covering approximately 2.5km.”
“This drilling has helped develop a good understanding of the mineralisation, its extent and potential, prompting us to believe that this year will be a breakout year for our company.”
