BP's (BP) emissions under its operational control grew by around 4.7% during 2024 compared with a year earlier, rising to 33.6 million metric tons from 32.1 million tons in 2023, the energy major disclosed in its annual report Thursday.
The company also said it Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions in 2024 rose to 322 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, representing an increase over the prior year's 315 million tons but down about 11% from its 2019 baseline.
BP shares were 0.8% lower in early trading.
