President of France Emmanuel Macron spoke with President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to a statement from the Élysée. Trump is expected to address Ukraine in his speech Tuesday.

In a statement, the Palace said Macron welcomed "Zelensky's willingness to re-open dialogue with the United States of America" and he "reaffirms France's determination to work with all stakeholders to implement a strong and lasting peace in Ukraine." The conversations come as European leaders have worked to repair the relationship between Trump and Zelensky after a contentious Oval Office meeting on Friday scuttled the signing of a potential mineral deal and the beginning of peace negotiations.
