Carrier Global (CARR) and Alphabet's (GOOG) Google Cloud said Wednesday they are collaborating on a grid flexibility and energy management initiative.
Carrier Energy, the company's newly launched energy solutions business, will integrate Carrier's battery-enabled heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, or HVAC, technology via its Home Energy Management System with Google Cloud's artificial intelligence-backed analytics and WeatherNext AI models.
The combined product will target residential HVAC energy clients, the companies added.
Financial details weren't provided.
Carrier shares were rising nearly 4% in recent trading, while Alphabet was down 0.4%.
