Apple (AAPL) has received local content certificates in Indonesia for 20 products, including the iPhone 16, multiple news outlets reported Friday, citing the country's industry ministry spokesperson.

IPhone 16 sales in Indonesia were banned in 2024 amid the technology giant's failure to meet requirements on locally made components, Reuters reported. The company has secured certificates for 11 phone models and 9 tablets after it met the requirements, the news agency reported, citing ministry spokesperson Febri Hendri Antoni Arief.

Apple still needs permits from Indonesia's communications and digital ministry and the trade ministry to be able to sell its products there, Febri reportedly said.

The company did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
