市传内地政府正考虑取消一项地方政府收购数百万套存量商品房的价格上限，为努力加快推进存量商品房去库存。摩根大通的研究报告指，认为此举可行，或可提升卖家的出售意欲，不过不确定可能更高的收购成本会否真正加快地方政府的收购步伐。所以认为如果属实，影响仅为温和。
该行亦指，基于政府更强的意愿以支持楼市下行，相信会有更多的政策去解决问题。该行列出其内房首选，华润置地(01109.HK) 、中海外(00688.HK) 、华润万象(01209.HK) 以及保利物业(06049.HK) 。
