General Dynamics (GD) has participated in a $250 million funding round for Epirus, a technology company focused on short-range air defense.
Epirus said the $250 million series D funding round was oversubscribed and that its venture funding now totals more than $550 million.
The round was led by 8VC and Washington Harbour Partners, along with a group of return investors that included General Dynamics, funds advised by T. Row Price's (TROW) Investment Management, and new investors.
The funding will allow Epirus to scale production of Leonidas, its high-power microwave technology for countering drones, drone swarms, and other electronics, the company said.
