路透3月5日 - 美国总统特朗普对贝莱德(Blackrock)BLK.N 牵头、以 228 亿美元收购香港长和0001.HK港口业务，其中包括在巴拿马运河一家重要港口运营商中的权益表示欢迎。
特朗普周二晚间对美国国会称："我的政府将收回巴拿马运河，我们已经开始这么做了。
巴拿马总统穆利诺(Jose Raul Mulino)周三上午在X上发文称，特朗普 "再次撒谎"。
"巴拿马运河并没有被收回...运河是巴拿马的，并将继续是巴拿马的！"
长江和记表示，与贝莱德牵头的财团达成的交易包括巴拿马港口公司 90%的股份，该公司运营运河两端的巴尔博亚港和克里斯托巴尔港已超过 20 年。
两位知情人士透露，高盛集团正在为长江和记提供交易顾问服务。高盛拒绝对此发表评论。
特朗普曾多次声称运河受到中国的影响，而长江和记的总部在香港。
摩根大通在一份报告中称，虽然出售巴拿马业务是 "可以理解的"，但鉴于长江和记的其他港口大多不在直接受中美地缘政治紧张局势影响的地区，这笔交易还是 "令人意外"。
