继美国总统唐纳德·特朗普表示将让雪佛龙公司停止生产和销售委内瑞拉原油之后，美国财政部予以跟进。

　　美国财政部对雪佛龙结束其委内瑞拉业务的最后期限设在4月3日，只给了该公司30天而不是通常为6个月的过渡期。这么短的时间窗对委内瑞拉总统马杜罗而言是个意想不到的打击，他与特朗普迅速达成协议的压力明显加大。

　　上述决定宣布后，雪佛龙股价下跌1.3%。此举推翻了拜登政府允许这家美国石油巨头将委内瑞拉重质原油运往墨西哥湾沿岸炼油厂的决定。

　　与委内瑞拉国有石油公司经营合资企业的雪佛龙近年来提高了产量，占该国总产量的约20%。这显著提振了该国经济，有助遏制高通胀，向该国的私营部门注入了硬通货。
