路透3月5日 - 两位知情人士表示，上月离开摩根士丹利MS.N 出任美国商务部高级职位的明星科技投资银行家Michael Grimes预计将领导美国总统特朗普宣布成立的新的美国主权财富基金。
这两位消息人士表示，有关Grimes领导创建主权财富基金的讨论仍在进行中，计划可能会发生变化。由于讨论是保密的，消息人士要求匿名。
其中一位消息人士说，该基金预计将由所谓的 对外税务局（External Revenue Service）的收入提供支持。
美国商务部、Grimes和白宫没有立即回应置评请求。
这些此前未曾报导过的细节凸显出主权财富基金的计划已开始成形。拜登政府前财政部和商务部官员Jim Secreto说："招募Grimes这样的人来做这件事是非常明智的。"
中东和亚洲国家已经推出了类似的基金，作为用政府资金进行直接投资的一种方式。通常情况下，这类基金依靠国家的预算盈余进行投资，但美国处于预算赤字状态。该基金的设立还可能需要国会的批准。(完)
