美国商务部计划任命前摩根士丹利银行家Michael Grimes领导计划成立的主权财富基金。特朗普希望通过成立该基金，让美国参与到他认为对国家安全至关重要的项目。

　　据知情人士透露，在摩根士丹利效力已有30年的Grimes将加入美国商务部，负责管理该基金。

　　该想法仍处于早期阶段，很多事情仍有可能变化，但该基金将成为公私合作计划的一环，打开大规模机构投资的选项。

　　Grimes在摩根士丹利工作期间，曾帮助埃隆·马斯克收购推特。

　　此举表明，美国商务部正在推进特朗普2月份要求成立主权财富基金的行政命令。特朗普去年在竞选活动中提出过这一想法，想以此作为工具，把关税收入投资于制造业中心以及国防和医学研究。其中一位知情人士称，该基金目前规划仍存变数，不会涉及收取关税收入。
