Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) is integrating a second authentication feature into its app as part of efforts to prevent cybercrime, according to a Tuesday statement from the bank.
Customers accessing the app will get a request for confirmation whenever an attempt is made to log on to their account via NetBank, per the statement. The new security feature will be available starting in April.
CommBank has earmarked AU$450 million as an investment in fighting cybercrime during the first half of the 2025 financial year.
