XPeng (HKG:9868) will test its artificial intelligence-powered autonomous driving technology in Hong Kong to assess global demand and the right-hand drive market, the South China Morning Post reported Tuesday, citing a story by Hong Kong Economic Journal.

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer He Xiaopeng did not give a timeline to test the Xpeng Navigation Guided Pilot in the city, the report said.

Xpeng will also test the technology in other right-hand drive markets such as Thailand, the SCMP said.

Worldwide launch is seen to take place in 2026, the report said, citing a spokesperson for XPeng.

Shares closed 4% higher during Wednesday's trading.
