1716 GMT - Artificial intelligence in banking operations is still in the early stages but has potential to improve operations in three areas, Lloyds Banking Group's COO says at the MoneyLIVE Summit in London. One area is conversational AI, which can improve how colleagues interact with customers via better management and robot assistance, says Ron van Kemenade. Another is operations with change to both back-office and end-to-end processes. "The good thing is with agentic AI you can actually create processes on the fly, and this is one of my most attractive pilots," he adds. The third area is assisting engineers in being more efficient when coding, allowing them more time to understand issues when they arise, the executive says. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
