Chinese television makers TCL Technology (SHE:000100) and Hisense Visual Technology's (SHA:600060) global shipments beat South Korea's Samsung (KRX:005930) and LG (KRX:003550) for the first time in the fourth quarter of 2024, Yicai Global reported, citing research firm Omdia.

TCL and Hisense combined comprised 30% of the global TV shipment market during the period, compared with 26% for both Samsung and LG, the report said.

Samsung still was the top TV maker individually worldwide in Q4 even if its market share dropped to 16% and its shipment volume fell 2.4% during the period, the report said.

Hisense ranked second with a market share of 15.6% and TCL was third at 14.6%, Yicai said.

LG's market share slipped 9.8% while shipments slid 3.3%, Yicai reported.
