Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) will officially roll out the updated versions of its G6 and G9 SUV (sport utility vehicle) models on Thursday, after it began previewing them earlier this month.
The company will hold its spring 2025 launch event on March 13 at 7 pm Beijing time, where it would officially launch the 2025 G6 and G9, Xpeng announced today on Weibo.
"We have carefully optimized these two vehicles according to the definition of an all-new SUV," He Xiaopeng, Xpeng's chairman and CEO, wrote on Weibo today.
The updated G6 would have a powerful smart driving System, and an excellent electrical system, Mr. He said.
The updated G9, on the other hand, would be built on an 800-volt high-voltage system with Turing AI smart driving and an AI chassis, he said.
The Xpeng G6 was initially launched in China on June 29, 2023, and the SUV was at the time instrumental in turning around the company's weak sales from the previous year.
The SUV is currently priced from RMB 199,900 ($27,590) to RMB 276,900 in China.
Xpeng introduced the 2025 G6 at an event on February 28 and began accepting pre-orders with unannounced pricing information.
The 2025 G6 will bring 81 feature upgrades to the exterior, interior and configurations, and updates 34 percent of the tier 1 assembly parts, the company said at the time.
