This quarter, analysts are expecting Quanex’s revenue to grow 60% year on year to $382.6 million, a reversal from the 8.7% decrease it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted loss is expected to come in at -$0.01 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Quanex has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates twice over the last two years.

Looking at Quanex’s peers in the home construction materials segment, some have already reported their Q4 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Owens Corning delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 23.3%, beating analysts’ expectations by 2.7%, and Trex reported a revenue decline of 14.4%, topping estimates by 4.4%. Owens Corning traded down 4% following the results while Trex was up 1.1%.
