Sovereign Metals (ASX:SVM) said purification test work on Kasiya coarse flake returned a rate higher than the target, reinforcing the potential benefits of the material for downstream customers, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
Purification of the coarse flake graphite achieved 99.95% loss of ignition (LOI) purity using acid purification and 99.98% LOI purity via alkaline purification, compared with the target of >99.0%.
The results indicate the potential to cut reagent consumption and waste generation in the production of high-purity flake or targeted high-end applications, the filing stated.
