BlockBeats 消息，3 月 9 日，据萨尔瓦多财政部网站数据，萨尔瓦多于今晨再度增持 1 枚比特币，目前其比特币持仓 6105.18 枚，价值超 5.27 亿美元，近 7 日增持 13 枚比特币，近 30 日增持 36 枚比特币。尽管国际货币基金组织 (IMF) 向萨尔瓦多施压，要求其停止积累去中心化价值存储资产，但自 3 月 1 日起萨尔瓦多仍购买了 13 枚比特币。
2024 年 12 月，萨尔瓦多与国际货币基金组织达成协议，从该组织获得 14 亿美元贷款。作为该协议的一部分，萨尔瓦多政府同意取消 BTC 在该国的法定货币地位，并减少公共部门对比特币的参与。
