Market Chatter: Lockheed-Boeing Space Unit Criticized by Air Force for Missed Targets

Lockheed Martin (LMT) and Boeing's (BA) joint venture, United Launch Alliance, was ranked poorly in a recent Air Force evaluation, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing the military's annual acquisition performance review.

The ULA fell short of expectations for national security launch duties last year, owing primarily to delays and issues with its new Vulcan rocket, the report said.

The Air Force is considering shifting upcoming Vulcan missions to another provider such as Elon Musk's SpaceX after ULA's transition from the Atlas V rocket continued to face setbacks, the report said.

Lockheed Martin and Boeing did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
