Wheels Up Names John Verkamp Chief Financial Officer

Wheels Up Experience has hired GE veteran John Verkamp as the private-jet membership company's chief financial officer, effective March 31.

Wheels Up on Tuesday said Verkamp spent more than two decades with General Electric and GE Vernova, most recently serving as finance chief of GE Vernova's gas power global services business.

The Chamblee, Ga., company said Eric Cabezas, who stepped in as interim chief financial officer last year after Todd Smith resigned, will return to his post as senior vice president of finance, which he has held since February 2019.

Wheels Up said Verkamp will receive an annual base salary of $550,000 and an annual bonus with a target of 100% of his base pay.
