Prodigy Gold (ASX:PRX) said preliminary results from the second phase of metallurgical test work for the Hyperion gold project in the Northern Territory highlight the potential for excellent gold recoveries through a conventional carbon-in-leach plant, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
Oxide composite reported 48-hour recoveries ranging between 93.2% to 96.4% with a grade of 3.15 grams per tonne of gold. Transition composite reported 48-hour recoveries ranging between 92.7% and 96.6% with a calculated gold grade of 8.43 g/t.
Fresh composite reported 48-hour recoveries ranging from 64.6% to 72% at 6.09 g/t gold.
The results of the metallurgical test work will be incorporated into a detailed mine plan study for the development of the Hyperion project.
The firm's shares fell 20% on market close on Tuesday.
