ING, the biggest bank in the Netherlands, has taken credit for Macquarie’s remarkable growth in the Australian mortgage market, and now it wants to match it.
ING, which launched in Australia 25 years ago with a high-interest savings account, said its fully digital, disrupter mentality was imitated by Macquarie, which then stole the march to push aggressively into home loan lending against the major banks.
