TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati reported the realization of the state budget (APBN) as of February 2025. By the end of the month, the APBN recorded a deficit of Rp 1.3 trillion, equivalent to 0.13 percent of GDP.
"The 2025 APBN was planned with a Rp612.2 trillion deficit, so this figure remains within the target," Sri Mulyani stated at the Ministry of Finance office on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
As is known, this year's APBN deficit is targeted at 2.53 percent of the GDP. The deficit occurs when expenditure is higher than revenue. In the 2025 APBN, the government targeted state expenditure at Rp3,621.3 trillion and state revenue at Rp3,005.1 trillion. Thus, the budget deficit is limited to Rp616.3 trillion.
Sri Mulyani presented the realization of state expenditure until the end of February, amounting to Rp348.1 trillion.
"Until the end of February, we still see state expenditure of Rp348.1 trillion. This is 9.6 percent of the budgeted expenditure for this year," she said.
Meanwhile, state revenue until the end of February reached Rp316.9 trillion. Tax revenue reached Rp240.4 trillion, consisting of Rp187.8 trillion in taxes and Rp52.6 trillion in customs and excise duties. Meanwhile, non-tax state revenue (PNBP) amounted to Rp76.4 trillion.
Tax revenue has become a concern, especially after issues arose from the implementation of the Coretax system.
Sri Mulyani reported that until the end of February, tax revenue reached Rp187.8 trillion. "Or 8.6 percent below the target," she said.
The APBN KiTa (Performance and Facts) data is usually published by the Ministry of Finance in the second or third week of the following month.
However, Sri Mulyani only announced the monthly APBN performance publication on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The publication is a calculation of the realization of the APBN for the period of January and February 2025.
