Wayfair's Atlanta Plans Can Mirror Success in Chicago -- Market Talk

1116 ET - Wayfair's announcement of a new store in Atlanta is a testament to the success of a similar store presence in Chicago, say analysts at Jefferies in a research note. The online furniture retailer said it would open its second large-format store in the state of Georgia in 2026. The analysts note that since Wayfair opened its large-format store outside Chicago in 2024, more than half of physical retail customers are entirely new to the company. "We see this broader initiative activating new customers, reactivating lapsed shoppers, and driving frequency from existing ones via greater awareness of & appreciation for the assortment breadth," the analysts say. Shares rise 2.7%. (denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
