Currenc Group (CURR) said Tuesday it plans to build a 500-megawatt hyperscale artificial intelligence data center in Johor, Malaysia.

The company intends to purchase 100 acres in Johor for the campus, which will be developed in phases. The first phase, delivering 100MW, is expected to be completed and operational by late 2026.
The facility will offer co-location and wholesale leasing solutions for hyperscalers, enterprise clients, and other data center users. Construction of each phase will begin once long-term tenants are secured for a substantial portion of its capacity, the company said.
Shares of Currenc Group dropped about 29% in recent Tuesday trading.
