MEC Company (TYO:4971) has delayed the planned start of operations at its new Kitakyushu Plant to December 2026 from October 2025, citing a need to adjust manufacturing plans to meet broader product demand, according to a Friday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The chemical firm, which supplies product technology for semiconductor package substrates, said it is revising equipment plans to secure production capacity for future business expansion.

The plant, located in Wakamatsu-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is expected to have a production capacity of 30,000 tons per year and will involve an investment of about 4.7 billion yen.
