Sector Update: Financial Stocks Fall Pre-Bell Thursday

Financial stocks fell pre-bell Thursday with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) 0.6% lower recently.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 1.6% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1.7% higher.

Oportun Financial (OPRT) shares rose past 3% after Findell Capital Management said it planned to nominate two director candidates to replace CEO Raul Vasquez and lead director Neil Williams.

Iren (IREN) shares were down by nearly 2% after the company said it is restating its financial statements for the fiscal years ended June 30, 2022, 2023, 2024 as well as the unaudited interim financial statements for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2024 and the three and six months ended Dec. 31, 2024.

FactSet Research Systems (FDS) shares were little changed after the company reported higher fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue. The company also raised its fiscal 2025 revenue outlook.
