Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) completed its maiden gold pour at Genesis Minerals' (ASX:GMD) Laverton mill, and the processing of the first parcel concluded early this week, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
The ore was sourced from the high-grade Second Fortune project underground mine and existing lower-grade stockpiles at the Lord Byron mine, both in Western Australia.
A final metallurgical reconciliation is underway, and results are expected in the coming weeks, the filing said.
The firm's definitive feasibility study on the wider Laverton-Menzies development strategy is nearing completion and due for delivery in the first half.
Genesis Minerals' shares rose almost 3% in early trading on Thursday, earlier hitting a 52-week high.
