路透香港3月20日 - 美联储（FED）一如预期维持利率不变，香港金融管理局认为美国未来的减息步伐仍有较大变数，而香港大型银行汇丰以及中银香港2388.HK则按兵不动未对存贷基准利率作出调整。
金管局周四的新闻稿指出，美联储维持息率不变的决定符合市场预期，今次会后发表的位图显示，美联储有可能于今年内再减息共50基点。
“然而，观乎近期各种经济数据的变化以及市场预期的波动，未来的减息步伐仍有较大变数。”金管局并称，香港利率于可见的一段时间内仍可能会处于较高水平，而美国未来减息的幅度和步伐存在颇大的不确定性。
本地两大银行汇丰以及中银香港均宣布其港元最优惠利率维持在5.25%，港元储蓄利率亦不变。
香港自1983年起实行港元与美元挂钩的联系汇率制度，因此两地利率走向基本一致。
稍早美联储主席鲍威尔表示，目前的政策立场所处的位置良好，能应对面临的风险和不确定性。决策者仍预计美联储到今年年底将降息两次、每次25个基点，与12月的预测一致。（完）
