Zeekr Group and XPeng (HKG:9868) would start selling electric vehicles with technology that allows drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel, Reuters reported on Wednesday.
Geely Automobile's (HKG:0175) Zeekr will officially launch its 9X sport utility vehicle at the Shanghai Autoshow and start deliveries in the second half of 2025, Reuters said.
However, whether these vehicles have Level 3 autonomous driving functions, which means a car can be driven without assistance, will be subject to approval from the authorities, Reuters said.
Nio (SGX:NIO, HKG:9866) and BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) are among those with Level 3 approval, including Changan Automobile and GAC (HKG:2238) for road testing, the report said.
