Contact Energy (ASX:CEN, NZE:CEN) reported that its retail mass market electricity sales and its wholesale electricity sales fell year over year in February, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
Retail mass market electricity sales fell to 211 gigawatt hours (GWh) in February from 225 GWh in the same month in 2024, while retail gas sales remained flat at 27 GWh.
Wholesale electricity sales to customer businesses declined to 227 GWh from 242 GWh, while wholesale spot electricity sales dropped to 634 GWh from 649 GWh.
The company said electricity demand in New Zealand was down 5.2% in the period, compared with February 2024.
