TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresident Prabowo Subianto will meet with a number of investors after the IDX Composite (IHSG) plunged to its lowest point since the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

This meeting plan was revealed by the Chair of the Indonesian National Economic Council, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, after a limited meeting with the country's leadership at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on March 19, 2025. “The President will later meet with market investors,” said Luhut.

Luhut, however, stopped short of disclosing the exact date of the meeting, but explained that it will be arranged by the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya.

According to Luhut, a 6 percent plunge in the composite could happen anytime, and it just so happened to hit Indonesia. He claimed that the IHSG has rebounded and marked positive. “The president (Prabowo) will continue to be cautious about fiscal discipline and enumerate them carefully,' he said.

The IHSG tumbled in Tuesday's trading, reaching a drop of 6.11 percent or at the level of 6,076. This condition triggered a temporary trading halt by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) at 11:19:31 Jakarta Automated Trading System (JATS) time. Yesterday's drop in the IHSG was the lowest since COVID-19. In January 2020, the IHSG fell to the level of 6,300.
