Monday’s HotCopper Trends: Spartan and Ramelius merger, Arizona capital raise | March 17, 2025

The ASX has been up 0.62% at 7,837 points, following Wall Street’s Friday lead.

It’s a sea of green today and Materials has been the best performing sector, up 1.55%, followed by Energy, up 1%, and Real Estate, up 0.66%.

Health Care is the one and only sector in the red, down 0.25%.

Spartan Resources (ASX:SPR) has been the most watched on HotCopper forums today, with the company in advanced merger talks with Ramelius Resources (ASX:RMS). The deal is slated to be announced to the ASX as early as next week.

Also trending: Opthea (ASX:OPT) has been placed in a trading halt pending a material announcement regarding top line results of its COAST (Combination OPT-302 with Aflibercept Study) clinical trial.

Rounding out the most discussed has been Arizona Lithium (ASX:AZL), which entered a trading halt pending a capital raising announcement.
