消息面上，近日，长和出售港口资产一事引发舆论争议。此前3月4日深夜，长和发布公告称，拟向美国贝莱德财团出售旗下港口资产80%股权，涉及全球23国43个港口，包括巴拿马运河关键港口。有报道指出，贝莱德财团通过此次收购可深度嵌入全球贸易关键节点，而长和退出则可能受地缘政治压力影响。摩根大通表示，这一项目堪称集团历年最大规模的资产出售行动，预计可套现超190亿美元。
据观察者网援引香港媒体报道，香港特区行政长官李家超今日接受记者采访，当被问到香港长和向美国财团出售港口资产被批“无腰骨跪低”时，李家超表示，有三点看法：第一，社会对事件的关切，值得重视；第二，特区政府要求外国政府为香港企业，提供公平环境，反对使用胁迫施压手段；第三，任何交易须符合法律法规要求，港府会依法依规处理。
