New Hope Coal chief executive Rob Bishop says thermal coal prices could soon rise given a 77 per cent slide over the past two years has forced some rival exporters to curtail production.
Speaking after New Hope reported a 35 per cent rise in half-year profit to $340.3 million, Bishop said he expected coal prices to stabilise “over the next few months”.
