March 18 - (The Insurer) - Alternative investment manager Elementum Advisors has appointed Jeff Davis and Paul Barker to newly created chief investment officer roles for catastrophe bonds and private ILS, respectively, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
These appointments, effective March 17, formally acknowledge the contributions of Davis and Barker, who have been leading their respective teams and developing investment strategies for Elementum’s clients over the past several years, the statement said.
Davis joined Elementum from Aon Securities in 2020 as senior vice president of investing. Barker has been with Elementum for nearly 14 years, starting as a catastrophe modelling associate and ultimately serving as head of Elementum Bermuda, a role that he will maintain in addition to his newly appointed position.
Since its founding in 2009, Elementum's investment business has been overseen by the firm’s founding partners, John DeCaro and Tony Rettino.
DeCaro and Rettino will remain involved in macro oversight and investment advice as needed, focusing on the overall management of Elementum and the continued development of the firm's strategy, new product offerings and capital-raising initiatives, according to Elementum.
