路透3月17日 - 美国司法部上周提出一项动议，要求延长美国钢铁X.N和日本制铁5401.T对外国投资委员会(CFIUS)，美国钢铁X.N在周一提交的一份文件中说。
在美国外国投资委员会以国家安全为由建议时任美国总统拜登（Joe Biden）否决美国钢铁公司与日本日本制铁公司的合并案后，两家公司于今年1月联合对美国外国投资委员会提起了诉讼 (link)，该委员会负责审查外国投资是否存在国家安全风险。
司法部的动议要求将外国投资委员会诉讼的简报期限延长 21 天，并将口头辩论从 4 月 24 日重新安排到 5 月 12 日这一周。
该文件补充说，延长期限的目的是让政府有更多的时间完成与钢铁公司正在进行的并购讨论，并消除针对外国投资委员会的诉讼。
