Philippines National Government's Budget Surplus Shrinks 22.27% in January

Philippines National Government's (NG) budget surplus for January slumped 22.27% year on year to 68.4 billion Philippine pesos, the Bureau of the Treasury announced Tuesday.

The drop was down to sustained revenue growth alongside increased expenditures.

Revenue collections for the month, however, jumped 10.75% on year to 467.1 billion pesos from 421.8 billion pesos a year earlier, the bureau said.
