Return airfares from Australia to the United States are being offered from under $1000 through Qantas as the airline slashes the cost of some of its most popular overseas routes.
Qantas' latest sale includes economy return fares from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Honolulu from $999.
The sale, which is available until 11.59pm AEDT on March 26, comes ahead of Qantas launching flights between the Victorian capital and Hawaii on May 1.
Qantas recently revealed it was taking over the Melbourne to Honolulu route from its budget offshoot Jetstar, with the low cost carrier's twice weekly flights to end in late April.
Other latest sale fares include Brisbane to Los Angeles from $1,149, along with Sydney and Melbourne to Los Angeles from $1,199.
LA Tourism said the Californian city was keen to welcome Australians after a difficult start to the year, with wildfires ravaging some areas.
“Los Angeles is open for business and ready to showcase the city’s breadth of attractions, vibrant culinary scene, outdoor adventures, and world-class sports and entertainment offerings," LA Tourism said.
"After a challenging start of the year, Los Angeles continues to be a city of strength, creativity, and endless opportunity and is ready to welcome back Aussies.
"While wildfires have impacted some communities, the heart of Los Angeles remains as vibrant as ever and the city is looking forward to welcoming back Aussies with open arms."
Qantas said its other discounted economy return fares include flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to San Francisco from $1,199, to Dallas from $1,649, to New York from $1,699 and to Vancouver from $1,399.
Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane economy return sale fares to Santiago start from $1,799.
Premium economy return sale fares include Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Honolulu from $2,399, while business return sale fares include Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane to Santiago from $5,599.
"We know Australians love to visit the Americas and last year alone, we flew over half a million customers to destinations across North and South America," Qantas CEO International Cam Wallace said.
"We have included some of our most popular routes in this sale such as Santiago along with fan favourites LA and New York. We also have return fares to Honolulu starting from under $1,000, so there’s never been a better time to book a trip to Hawaii and beyond."
The sale covers select travel dates between April 14 and January 29 next year.
