TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti ensures that the government's teacher allowances have been received by each eligible teacher.

He stated that the allowances have been disbursed only to those who have completed their bank account data through the Education and Cultural Personnel (GTK) website.

"It has been disbursed. Yes, there are 1.4 million of them, but not all. So, for the teachers who have filled in the data, their allowances have been disbursed," Mu'ti told reporters during a media briefing with the Ministry of Education and Culture in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

He acknowledged receiving reports from various regions, including West Kalimantan and Central Java. Many teachers have personally sent him messages confirming that they have received their allowances.

"Those who have my phone number have sent private messages. 'Thank you for the allowance, we have received it.' So for those whose data is complete, it has been sent," he said.

However, Mu'ti admitted that he does not have precise data on how many bank account details have been received by the government so far.

As of March 13, based on reports from the regional administration, 70 percent of the 900 thousand submitted teacher bank accounts have been verified as valid by the bank. Meanwhile, around 200 thousand accounts are still undergoing further verification.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto introduced a new mechanism for distributing allowances to civil servant (ASN) teachers and Regional Government Employed Personnel (PPPK).

Under this new system, ASN and PPPK teachers will receive allowances directly transferred to their accounts, bypassing the regional government as an intermediary.

The launch event took place at Plaza Insan Berprestasi, located at the Ministry of Education and Culture office, on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

"I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, have had the honor of launching the new mechanism for direct disbursement of allowances for ASN regional teachers to their accounts," Prabowo announced during the event.

On the same occasion, Mu'ti explained that for 15 years, from 2010 to 2024, teacher allowances were first transferred by the Ministry of Finance to the regional public treasury account before reaching the teachers.

With the new policy, these allowances will now be sent directly from the central government to each teacher’s personal account.

Mu'ti further detailed the number of teachers benefiting from this direct transfer mechanism.

A total of 1,476,964 ASN teachers will receive allowances directly from the Ministry of Finance’s account, while 392,802 non-ASN teachers will receive their allowances directly from the Ministry of Education and Culture.
